Electric Walcott is worth the wait: Winger comes on to play starring role in comeback
Pleased with the performance: Roy Hodgson praised his sides display

Sweden coach Erik Hamren said: 'I'm really disappointed. We've played two really good halves and ended up with no points.

'I'm proud of my players. We showed the attitude I wanted to see, and we had the courage to play our way. But to win games you also need luck. We've not had that. 'The difference between England and us was that they were more efficient than we were. That's why they won the game.

'We say in Sweden, "The operation was really good, but the patient died". That's how we feel.'

Looking ahead to Tuesday's final group game against Ukraine on Tuesday, Hodgson said: 'I'm really happy to know a draw or win will see us through.

'This has been a really difficult group. Hopefully a player of Rooney's class will take pressure off the defensive players because he can change a game on his own.'
