Blanc's contract expired on Saturday and. according to reports in the French media, he is to step down from his position.

The 46-year-old has recently been linked with Tottenham Hotspur.

Blanc was named France manager in the aftermath of a disastrous 2010 World Cup campaign under Raymond Domenech before leading the national side to a run of 23 games without defeat.

Once again In-fighting hindered France's progress at a major international tournament as Les Bleus were knocked out by Spain in the quarter-finals of Euro 2012.
