The German's don't like losing. But after their shock Euro 2012 semi final defeat to Italy, it's a feeling they're going to have to get used to for the time being.
One of the pre-tournament favourites, Germany were knocked out of the competition by the brilliance of Mario Balotelli - who scored twice to put the Azzurri through the the final.
The team's disappointment was also reflected in the German fans as they boarded trains for the cross-border journey back home.
Germany will now have to wait until the 2014 World Cup in Brazil to try and end a run of 16 years without winning a major trophy.
