Script:

Italian fans left the National Stadium in a jubilant mood, while German fans departed disappointed on Thursday after Italy defeated Germany 2-1 in Warsaw to book their place in the final of Euro 2012.

The loss extended Germany's dreadful record to eight matches without a win against Italy in major tournaments, and this Italian fan couldn't help but rub it in.

SOUNDBITE (Italian) Daniello, Italian fan from Venice: (last name unknown)

"They always think, sooner or later it will end, instead it never ends; 4:3, 2:0 at theirs, 2:1 today and so on to the next, it will always be like this. (referring to Germany's poor record against Italy in major tournaments)"

Many had tipped Joachim Loew's rising stars to progress, and these fans were disillusioned with their side:

SOUNDBITE (English) Michael, German fan from Cologne: (last name unknown)

"The fight was missing, everything was missing, they (already) think they are in the final and that's the point. They missed everything."

UPSOUND (English) Mattias, German fan from Munich: (last name unknown)

"It was boring!"

Italy will face defending champions Spain in Sunday's final in Kiev, Ukraine - a rematch of the game that opened Group C.
