Hundreds of Czech Republic fans crammed into the Old Town Square in the capital Prague on Thursday to watch their nation's Euro 2012 quarter-final with Portugal.

The Czech's had started the tournament poorly with a 4-1 defeat to Russia but subsequent wins over Greece and Poland meant they finished top of Group A.

Despite finishing the group stages strongly the Czech's were always up against it, with Portugal dominating the game for long periods.

In the end Cristiano Ronaldo's header 11 minutes from full time was enough to break Czech hearts as Portugal reached the semi-finals with a 1-0 win.

Portugal will now play either France or Spain in the semi-finals next Wednesday in Donetsk, while the Czech Republic will turn their attention towards qualification for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
