Citta the elephant "predicted" on Wednesday that Portugal would beat the Czech Republic in their Euro 2012 quarter-final.

Despite having failed with her first three "predictions" for Poland's group matches, Citta the elephant was given another chance on Wednesday as she "predicted" the fate of Portugal and the Czech Republic, in the first of the Euro 2012 quarter-finals.

The elephant, who lives at Krakow Zoo, was given a choice of two melons - each one placed above an image of either the Czech or the Portuguese flag, marking the only two possible results now that the Euro has entered its knockout stage.

She pointed her trunk towards the Portuguese flag, slowly grabbed the melon, and then proceeded to eat it, backing Portugal to beat the Czech Republic.

The zoo director believes that she is correct on this occasion, he said "Portugal are a very strong team and I have no problem with Citta's prediction."

Portugal and the Czech Republic will play their quarter-final tie at the National Stadium in Warsaw on Thursday the 21st of June.
