Bierhoff: "We can still go out"
Posted Sunday, June 17, 2012 by SNTV

Intro:

Oliver Bierhoff warned Germany "can still go out and have to be careful against Denmark" in their final Group B game at the UEFA European Championships, as they look for a draw to guarantee top spot in the group.

The Germany general manager also added on Saturday that Toni Kroos' comments, that it was "not satisfying" being on the bench, did not harm the team.

Germany face Denmark on Sunday in their final Group B game at Euro 2012, knowing a point will secure them a place in the quarter finals.

General manager Oliver Bierhoff spoke to the media before the team flew to Lviv.

SOUNDBITE: (German) Oliver Bierhoff, Germany General Manager (Q: You must get a least a point to secure a quarter final?)

"I have the feeling that the team recognise immediately that we haven't qualified yet. If you look at the different possibilities you find out that it can happen quite quickly, that we can still go out and have to be careful against Denmark, despite the fact that we played very dominant until now and we beat the teams that ware the hardest opponents on paper, Holland and Portugal.

Toni Kroos recently revealed his frustrations with only being a substitute for Germany - Bierhoff didn't seem to have a problem with Kroos' comments.

SOUNDBITE: (German) Oliver Bierhoff, Germany General Manager (Q: What is your reaction to the comments made by Toni Kroos?)

"I think his reaction didn't harm us. Toni puts a demand on himself to play, to be entitled to be, in his position, in the team and he can comment on this. I think as management we should not be sensitive. We analyse him in training, how he behaves with the team and we don't see any problems there."

Germany sit top of the group with six points. They need a draw to go through but could still be knocked out of the competition.
