SOUNDBITE (English): Oliver Bierhoff, German national team manager:
How is it being here in Danzig?
"We are very happy to be here. Danzig (Gdansk) is very nice for us. We have a very warm welcome. And now we want to get prepared for a nice tournament. We know we are amongst the favourites but it will be very tough for us. All the other nations are also very strong. We have good young quality players but we have to be a real team to go forward."

SOUNDBITE (English): Oliver Bierhoff, German national team manager:
How is Bastian Schweinsteiger?
"Well, his state is very good. As you can see, he is running and he is doing all the practice. He had some problems after the Champions League final. But our medicine doctor says that he is fine, he can practice 100 per cent with the team."

SOUNDBITE (English): Oliver Bierhoff, German national team manager:
What do you think about your opponents in the group?:
"Well, I think it is a very tough group. They are strong teams like the Netherlands and Portugal. We are also among the favourites and Denmark is not very comfortable to play. But the best may win and we have to start well against Portugal."
