Former Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler was in Singapore on Sunday for a meet-and-greet session with his fans.

Fowler, who scored 183 goals for Liverpool, believes their new manager Brendan Rogers is the right choice for the club.

SOUNDBITE (English) Robbie Fowler, ex-Liverpool and England striker (on Brendan Rogers as new Liverpool coach):

"I think it's a good appointment. He his record last year at Swansea was fantastic. Every manager and every team that he played against always praised him for the football he played. His mannerisms, everything about him…so let's hope he comes to Liverpool and gets them playing the right way because I think Liverpool deserves to be higher up in the league and in a manager like him, I think the club has made a great appointment."

He may have high hopes for Liverpool's future but wasn't holding out too much hope for England's Euro 2012 chances.

Fowler, who won 26 caps as an England player, believes his home nation may struggle at the championships.

SOUNDBITE (English) Robbie Fowler, (on England's chances at Euro 2012):

"I think it'll be tough for them to win it. I think, being honest to you, the Germans, Spanish..even the French may do better, you got the Dutch as well. I think on paper they are all better teams, I think on the pitch they are better teams as well, so I'm hoping England do well, I'm hoping England win it. But, being honest, I think England may struggle."
