SOCCER bad boy Joey Barton was in trouble with a disability charity in November after he labelled the cast of The Only Way Is Essex "retards".

He laid into them, which they followed by posting a group photo online that saw them holding up their little fingers to mock his manhood.

He then sneered back: "Just LOL-ed at TOWIE retards picture."

The snap shows cast member Patricia "Nanny Pat" Brooker, 73, holding a sign reading "Jel Joey Barton" — a catchphrase on the ITV2 show meaning jealous.

Referring to the Twitter snap — and pinpointing Nanny Pat — Joey wrote: "It's like a circus freak show. You've got midgets, hippos, about six with Red Rum's teeth in and a corpse holding a sign."
