What a thatch ... Rooney after transplant

MANCHESTER United striker Wayne showed off his new thatch to his 770,000 Twitter followers in June.

He posted this photo — with the misspelled message: "Hi all there's my head. It will take a few months to grow. Still a bit bloody to. But that's all normal."

United pal Rio Ferdinand, 32, replied with a joke about vain former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

He wrote: "Can't wait to see you in the mirror after training styling your locks with loads a products ala Ronaldo!" Rooney answered: "Haha, few months until that."

Wayne opened his Twitter account in April but kicked off with a string of mistakes.

His first Tweet was to Rio, writing: "Hi Rio do you want picking up in the morning pal." Unfortunately, it flopped as novice Roo forgot to use Rio's username, @rioferdy5.

Later Wayne, 26, successfully tweeted — but with a spelling mistake: "Hi all this is Wayne Rooney just started so bare with me. Hope all is well. I'll get rio to approve it's me guys. Xoxo".
