Portugal left their base in Opalenica after their Euro 2012 elimination at the hands of Spain.

Paulo Bento's side lost to defending champions on penalties with midfielder Cesc Fabregas scoring the decisive spot-kick to put the Spaniards into the final.

Cristiano Ronaldo who was pictured boarding the plane, was criticised for not taking one of the earlier penalties.

However he defended himself saying that coach Bento had asked him to take the fifth penalty.

Portugal who last got to the final in 2004, when they hosted the European championships are believed to have flown back to Lisbon airport.
