A shared border, new highway and express trains mean that for German fans, the trip to Warsaw's now an easy one - and they have come in their thousands.

They're hoping to see their team send the Italians home after Thursday night's Euro 2012 semi-final and by the sounds of things they're pretty confident.

SOUNDBITE (English) Marc (only one name given), German supporter from Paderborn:
"Tonight, in my opinion Italy has a good team but they will never beat us today. We will see the Spanish team in the final and we will beat the Italian team this night, three to one or two to zero."

Italian fans were harder to find, although this group more than made up for it.

The Italians have a good record against Germany and their fans think they'll come out fighting.

SOUNDBITE (Italian) Vox pop, Alessandro, football supporter from Naples:
"This evening is going to be a very difficult game, but for sure we'll win. Go Italy, you're always in our heart."

Both teams like to attack, meaning Thursday night's semi-final in Warsaw is sure to be an exciting one.
