Portugal were busy training in Poland on Monday, getting ready for their semi-final against Spain.

It comes as no surprise to their fans that Portugal have made it this far, as they have a good history in the European Championship.

They lost 1-0 to Greece in the Euro 2004 final on home soil, and went down 2-1 to eventual winners France in the 2000 semis in Brussels.

Miguel Custodio says this time, Portugal are willing to do whatever it takes to bring home the country's first ever major title.

SOUNDBITE (Portugeese) Miguel Custodio, midfielder:

"We won't change our tactics We will play just like in previous matches. We will try to play offensively and aggressively, fight for every ball and try to recover it. We will do everything we can to make sure Portugal win. We will fight to the death."

The task ahead is about as tough as it gets: Portugal have to take on defending world and European champions Spain.

But Custodio says Portugal are ready for the challenge.

SOUNDBITE (Portugeese) Miguel Custodio:

"Spain have a great team and they have won the last two big competitions. They are a team who play every match to win, but we also play to win. We will try to make this a great game and if you think Spain are the favourites, then we will try to win against the favourites."

Portugal play Spain on Wednesday in Donetsk.
