Spanish fans in Madrid celebrated their team's 2-0 win over France on Saturday that will see the defending champions now face Portugal in the semi-final.

Script:

Thousands of Spanish fans gathered in Madrid ahead of their team's quarter-final clash with France.

Ahead of the match, supporters enjoyed a concert with many fans young and old confident of a Spain victory.

"Of course, Spain is going to win. We are going to beat France and they are going to realise what Spain is."

Vincent Del Bosque's side sealed a 2-0 win over the French with both goals courtesy of Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso, much to the delight of the Madrid crowd

That result will see the defending champions face Portugal in the first semi-final on Wednesday, and despite another below par performance from the defending champions, their fans remain full of optimism.

The girl: " We are going to win the Euro!!!!"

If they do defeat Portugal, it will be Spain's third consecutive major tournament final, where they can look to become the first ever team to win back to back European Championship's.
