SOUNDBITE: (German) Philipp Lahm:

"In 2006 against Italy and at the World Cup in 2010 were the last important matches against Italy and England. Unfortunately we lost the 2006 semi-final against Italy. We weren't quite as advanced as we are now. Against England I think we played a great game a few years ago and obviously you do remember these two occasions when you meet them on the pitch again. In the meantime we have played a friendly against Italy in a 1-1 draw. So we know both these teams. They will be difficult to beat but at the same time they will not be happy to meet us."

SOUNDBITE: (German) Philipp Lahm:

"We have beaten some of the big nations and this is one of the clearest signals that we have been able to send out. At the World Cup we beat major opponents and here also in the group stages. And this comes down to the team being of a high quality and that all the players get behind the ball and it is very difficult for our opponents to make goal scoring chances against us. We are just fortunate to have a great mix of robust players, physically strong and at the same time technically gifted."

SOUNDBITE: (German) Philipp Lahm:

"I don't think Spain have under-performed. They are the team to beat. You have to measure everything against them and if you look at the way they distribute the ball and make space and how they work defensively. They probably only gave one goal scoring opportunity to France and France were only in possession for about 5 to 6 seconds in the first half that was a brilliant display on the part of Spain."
