Intro:

Spain defender Javi Martinez said on Thursday (21st June) that the 2010 World Cup win makes it 'more difficult' as teams seemingly up their game against the current world and European champions.

Spain play their Euro 2012 quarter-final against France on Saturday (June 23rd).

SOUNDBITE: (Spanish) Javi Martinez, Spain defender:
(After the Croatia game there has been criticism towards the team, has there been any impact on the squad?)
"The atmosphere is very good in the group, we are all confident. There have been tough times, we knew it would be difficult - the fact that previously we had won the World Cup was going to make it more difficult, because the teams want to win against us. Still, I think it was a difficult phase, but the team has come out stronger."

SOUNDBITE: (Spanish) Juanfran Torres, Spain defender:
(How can you stop a player of the quality of Franck Ribery?)
"With Ribery, you have to be on top of him for the whole game. He can score a goal at any moment or make an assist. You have to be on top of him. He is one of the most important players for France, so let's hope he doesn't have a good day. We have to defend well against him and all the other teams because they are very dangerous up front."
