Poland fans looked on as the Czech Republic become the first team to qualify for the UEFA European Championship quarter finals on Saturday and finish first in Group A.
Thousands of locals watched on in the hope that their team could advance in a major international tournament for the first time since the World Cup in 1986.
But instead, they witnessed Petr Jiracek's winner earn the Czech Republic a 1-0 victory and a place in the knockout stages.
Despite the result however, the majority of Polish fans remained proud of the way their side had fared in the tournament.
SOUNDBITE (English) Unknown Polish fan: "I am happy that we made it so far. Our last match in the group was not match for honour but was a match for everything. And it was the first situation since (the) 1982 (World Cup). I think that Polish football is growing."
Poland coach Franciszek Smuda will no longer be in charge of the national team. In a press conference after the game he said his contract would not be renewed.
