Greece to "exercise pressure" against Russia

Intro:

Greece held a press conference at the National Stadium in Warsaw on Friday ahead of their must-win European Championship game against Russia, on Saturday.

Fernando Santos's side will only reach the quarter-finals if they pick up all three points and overturn Russia's plus three goal difference.

The Portuguese said at Friday's press conference that he wants his players to get tight to Russia's playmakers, denying them space and time on the ball.

SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Fernando Santos, Greece manager (on how to stop Russia dominating the match):

"Firstly, when it comes to our defence, we have to exercise pressure when marking our opponents We must be very aggressive at that - we will not let them have the space to move around with the ball or without the ball and this is the first thing we must do to eliminate their style of play."

SOUNDBITE: (Greek) Theofanis Gekas, Greece striker (Asked what the Greek team will have to do to help him score again, as he did in the loss to the Czech Republic):

"First of all, the players have to reach the maximum of their performance. Of course, it's not a matter of who scores, it's up to the team, the whole team has to win. So, all the players have to be focused on our objective, which is to win."
