SOUNDBITE (German) Lukas Podolski, Germany striker (about the Polish team):
"I'll keep my fingers crossed for them. I hope they win their next game and go to the quarter-finals. Then they'll maybe meet us, if we manage to go on to the next stage. but if they play us, that would unfortunately be the last stop for them."
SOUNDBITE (German) Lukas Podolski, Germany striker:
"Normally, if you win two games in the group you should be qualified for the next round. but this is not the case. Clearly the goal is to beat Denmark. We did the calculating games already. but it makes no sense to calculate. We have to win the game to qualify as number one in the group."
SOUNDBITE (German) Mario Gomez, Germany striker (on his goalscoring form):
"It is nice that it is working out like this right now. I'm happy that my goals have some value, because they are the game-winning goals. but it is important that we'll win the next games also. it is not important who scores the goals. I'll give my best to score in the next games, too. but our goal is to get to the final and be European champion, our goal is not that I win the trophy for most goals."
SOUNDBITE (German) Mario Gomez, Germany striker:
"We have won just two games. in fact we have not achieved anything up to now. we are in a good position after the two victories, but we are not through yet. that shows that it is very hard in the EURO. it is a long way to go, you should not account after just two games."
SOUNDBITE (German) Mario Gomez, Germany striker:
"You feel it in the first minutes of the game, that there is a lot of pressure on me. I'm in the focus so I can not play as relieved as I would like to. That was not nice for me. Eventually we are here. We won the first game against a very good opponent Portugal. I scored a goal and thought there would be support from all sides. But it was not like this?
