Dutch dare to dream of Euro survival
Posted Friday, June 15, 2012 by SNTV

Intro:

Only the Dutch reserves turn out for training the day after their disappointing 2-1 defeat to Germany.

Script:

The Netherlands are on the brink of being eliminated from Euro 2012.

Bert van Marjwick watched his players lose 2-1 to bitter rivals Germany on Wednesday, leaving the Dutch pointless and bottom of Group B after two games.

Ibrahim Afellay was the only player who featured in the Germany match present at training in Krakow on Thursday.

Van Marjwick was critical of Afellay and Arjen Robben following the defeat, suggesting his wingers did not create enough goal scoring chances.

Holland will have to address that issue in their final group game against Portugal on Sunday.

Only a resounding victory over the Portuguese- plus a win for Germany over Denmark - will see the 1988 European champions progress to the quarter finals.
