The excitement of Euro 2012 continued as Portugal edged Denmark 3-2 in Group B on Wednesday.

Portugal's early two-goal lead was cancelled, before substitute Silvestre Varela hit a late winner.

Portuguese fans in Lviv rejoiced as their team resurrected their chances of progressing to the next round of the tournament.

In the other Group B game, Germany beat the Netherlands 2-1 to leave the Dutch on the brink of elimination.

Even Germany have six points from two wins, they're still not certain to advance from Group B, where three teams could end up with six points.

Denmark and Portugal have three points each, while the Netherlands - who were joint favourites heading into this competition - have no points.

Each team having one group game remaining to play, with a place in the knock-out round at stake.
