"The state of the pitch affected us all. Playing a quick style of football on a pitch that has not been watered takes a lot out of you and it is more difficult to play. You have to change the style of play, the ball doesn't flow as well when you pass through defence and the midfield. It affected us a lot but it's UEFA's decision what they will do. It's clear Italy said they preferred not to water the pitch but that's fine. UEFA will have to decide what to do in the future, not just for us but for the spectacle of the game, so there are more goals and also so there are less injuries, which is the most important."

SOUNDBITE: (Spanish) Jesus Navas, Spain winger

"Ireland and Italy have different kinds of players. Maybe Ireland won't be as defensive but it will still be a complicated game like the first one. It will be a game that we just have to take the three points from and go for it."
