Ireland fans make themselves at home at a campsite close to the centre of Poznan in Poland.

Tents and caravans alike decorated with national flags.

Ireland's group includes reigning champion Spain and 2006 World Cup winners Italy.

First up however is Croatia on Sunday.

Sean McShane, who's from Newry in Northern Ireland, is confident the team will win.

"It will be very tight tonight, it'll be a tight game, the opening games are always tight in these tournaments, but I think we'll take a 2-0, 2-0 Ireland."

The Irish team, well organised under Italian manager Giovanni Trapattoni, will try to spring a surprise at the tournament.

They play Spain on June 14 and Italy on June 18.

Sean happy to enjoy his time at Euro 2012:

"We've heard the Poles are hospitable people, we found that out when we got here. It took us two days to get here, but we're here now and we're going to go mental."

Croatia fans in the city centre are also in an upbeat and confident mood.

Their team faces Italy on June 14 and Spain on June 18.

Their fans agree on the score in the opening game with the Irish.

Just differing on who will come out on top:

"2-0 for Croatia, no problem. There's a lot of Irish here that came to drink because their team has no chance."

Fighting talk from the Croatian supporters.

But both sides know a victory is pretty near essential to have any hope of progressing past the group stage.
