Closely followed by manager Roy Hogdson and his team.

England take on France on Monday in their first match, before going on to play Sweden and then the Ukraine in their remaining Group D games.

Their preparations for the tournament have been far from ideal with former West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson a late appointment.

Also Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been ruled out of the first two group games due to suspension.

Injuries have also ruled out several notable players including Gareth Barry, Frank Lampard and Gary Cahill.

But it is still an experienced squad with a number of big names.

The "three Lions" remain optimistic that they can progress to the knockout rounds of the competition.
