Intro:

Denmark football fans in Kharkiv's fan zone celebrated victory over the Netherlands in Euro 2012.

The Dutch had been widely tipped to win theior opening Group B game.

Script:

Dutch and Danish fans crammed into the central square of Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine to watch their teams go head-to-head in Euro 2012.

Watching the match on a giant screen, the Netherlands fans, wearing the national team's trademark orange, had been expecting their heavily-tipped side to enjoy a comfortable victory.

But the 2010 World Cup finalists failed to take their chances at the nearby Metalist Stadium.

The concerned expressions of the Dutch supporters turned to anguish in the 24th minute when midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli put Denmark in front.Morten Olsen's side held on for a shock 1-0 win.

Denmark next play Portugal, while the Dutch have a chance to redeem themselves against Germany.

Both matches will be held on 13 June.

Dutch fans were having a good time no matter the score:

"Holland played a very well game. Actually it was the best match they've played in one year's time, although they lost the game, because Denmark was very sharp with one chance. We will see what happens. Perhaps they will go through, perhaps they don't go through, we will see. I wish Alemania (Germany), Portugal, Denmark all the best. Perhaps we win, perhaps we lose, we have a good time anyway."
