Posted Saturday, June 09, 2012 by SNTV

Intro:

Germany insist they are focused on opening their Euro 2012 campaign against Portugal on Saturday despite their anticipated clash versus Holland dominating the headlines.

Script:

Germany have their eye on a European Championship victory over their rivals the Netherlands. The two hotly tipped nations will face each other in Group B, but first, Joachim Low's Germany must remain focused on Saturday's match against Portugal. Thomas Mueller will be desperate to enjoy a good tournament after suffering Champions League heartache with Bayern Munich and the 23-year-old understands the need to hit the ground running.

SOUNDBITE (German): Thomas Mueller, Germany

"A good start is very, very important because through that you avoid the pressure situation. We have the second game against Holland - Holland finished second in the World Cup so they are not exactly a small opponent. We want to win and have a good situation going into the next game so as that we won't be nervous and miss our chance of getting into the quarter-finals." It will be important for Germany to overcome a difficult Portuguese side on Saturday before they can even think of re-igniting old rivalries with Holland.
