"I don't think we fear them. Obviously they are a good team but like I say so are we and we know their strengths and weaknesses and we'll be working on them this week. France look really good going forward - they've got some great individual players but I think so have we. I think it is going to be a tough opening game for us, it is going to be a great opening game for us to play in. We are confident we can get a result against France."

"We are all hungry guys. We are all successful at football and that's what we want, we want success. We are not going to go there thinking 'people won't mind if we lose and we can go home and go on holiday because nobody cares.'.
Question: So you still have expectations?

"We have high expectations otherwise there is no point us being here. We've come to win, we've come to do well, to represent our country. We want to make people proud."

Q - Are you talking about Rio Ferdinand?

" No, certainly not. Whoever gets picked, whoever the manager picks we just get on with it. I just concentrate on my own job in a team and why I am here and I am sure the other players are like that. I know it has been built up, but the players just get on with it.
