Italy and the Netherlands took time out from their Euro 2012 training schedules on Wednesday to visit the former Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz in Poland.

After leaving a wreath at the camp entrance, Italy's players, coach Cesare Prandelli and support staff were escorted by three Italian survivors of the Holocaust.

The Netherlands team arrived as the Italian squad was leaving.

Bert van Marwijk's side open their Euro campaign on Saturday against Denmark in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

The Azzurri face a tough first match against defending champions Spain in the Polish city of Gdansk on Sunday.
