The Netherlands squad have taken part in their first training session in the Polish city of Krakow ahead of their first Euro 2012 match on Saturday.
The Dutch are one of the favourites for the tournament have been runners-up to Spain at the 2010 World Cup.
With the bulk of that squad which lost in the final in South Africa still available to coach Bert van Marwijk the 1988 European champions are likely to be a force to be reckoned with.
Two years on from their World Cup heartache, Ajax defender Gregory van der Weil says the squad has grown and matured in that time.
SOUNDBITE (English): Gregory van der Wiel:
"I think so. I think almost the same players but everybody is two years further now and everybody is two years older - including me and more experienced. Some people had a great season this season so I think it will help us for sure."
If the Netherlands are to win Euro 2012 they will have to come through 'the group of death', Group B, having been paired with Germany, Portugal and Denmark.
Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart believes it will be tough to make it through to the knockout stages but says the Dutch have what it takes.
SOUNDBITE (German): Rafael van der Vaart:
"I think we have got the toughest group of this Euro. Obviously, Germany is one of the favourites, Portugal as well and we are not to underestimate Denmark too. But we played well in the last two matches and there is a lot of self confidence. But it's a long way to go."
Holland begin their Euro 2012 campaign on Saturday against Denmark before facing Germany four days later and Portugal in their final group match on June 16.
