Germany bounced back from two successive defeats to record a comfortable 2-0 win over Israel at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig on Thursday (31st May).
Script:
Germany hosted Israel in their final friendly before they start their European Championship campaign.
After back-to-back friendly defeats against Switzerland and France, the Germans were keen to enter the competition on a high.
Jerome Boateng nearly gave them a perfect start, but his left-footer came back off the upright.
Just before the break the home side took the lead. Thomas Muller's beautiful flick found Mario Gomez, and the Munich forward smashed the ball into the roof of the net.
After the break Israel had the chance to draw level, but Manuel Neuer pulled off a stunning save to deny Gil Vermouth
Back came the Germans though, and Muller should have put them two up in the 76th minute, but his shot dribbled wide.
Six minutes later though it was two. And how about this from substitute Andre Schurrle?
It finished 2-0, next up Germany face Portugal in their Euro 2012 opener on June 9th.
