Russia drew 1-1 with Uruguay in their pre- Euro 2012 warm up game at Lokomotiv Stadium in Moscow on Friday (25th May).

Script:

With the upcoming Euros and Olympic Games, both Russia and Uruguay had something to play for in this friendly in Moscow on Friday.

The visitors started brightly and nearly took the lead on 21 minutes, but striker Luis Suarez pulled his shot wide after some initial good footwork.

Twenty minutes later another Uruguay chance went begging - this time Martin Caceres was unable to direct his header on goal.

However two minutes into the second half the Copa America champions did break the deadlock, and it was Suarez who got the goal.

The Liverpool forward twice faked to shoot before eventually slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

That goal sparked Russia into life and they equalized just a minute later.

Aleksandr Kerzhakov beat the offside trap and sent the ball over Fernando Muslera to level the game at 1-1.

The hosts searched for a winner - Kerzhakov thought he'd found it but this time his effort was ruled out for offside.

Final score: Russia 1-1 Uruguay.
