Laurent Blanc's Euro 2012 side were training in France on Thursday.

The French squad will be heading to Poland and Ukraine later this month, but aspirations are relatively low on the back of a disappointing World Cup in South Africa.

Coach Laurent Blanc says his team's goal is to make it to the quarter finals.

SOUNDBITE (FRENCH) France coach Laurent Blanc:

"After what happened during the 2010 World cup, we hope to make it to the quarter finals. After the quarter finals anything is possible, it should be our goal. I'm bearingin mind in the two last international tournaments France has not made it out of the group stages."

However Florent Malouda believes France are much stronger now than they were two years ago.

SOUNDBITE (ENGLISH) France player Florent Malouda:

"I expect the national team to do much better than what we did in South Africa. I think we did well in qualification with this young squad. This squad wants to prove we can compete with any other team in Europe and to try to get out of the group stage and then we have no limit for our young squad. We have quality and we need to show it."

France's first game is their Group D match against England on 11 June.
