The Metalist Stadium in Kharkiv is one of the four venues in Ukraine for Euro 2012.
It was originally constructed on the site of the Holy Spirit cemetery in 1926 and initially known as the Traktor Stadium, as it was sponsored by a nearby production plant.
It was renamed several times between 1940 and 1976 before adopting its current title.
The home of Metalist Kharkiv, the record attendance of 42-thousand was set in the match against Tavriya Simferopol in September 1980.
The ground has received several face-lifts down the years - the latest creating the multipurpose Metalist City complex with an official UEFA capacity for Euro 2012 of 35-thousand.
The latest renovations include a new pitch, undersoil heating and LED scoreboards.
