Spain goalkeeper and captain Iker Casillas unveiled the official Euro 2012 football in Madrid on Wednesday.

The ball will be used in the European Championships in Ukraine and Poland this summer.

Casillas posed with both the Adidas Tango 12 ball and the trophy won by Spain at Euro 2008.

He's expecting alot of competition in the fight for this year's trophy.

SOUNDBITE (Spanish), Iker Casillas, Spain captain:

"The problem we have now is that we don't come into the Eurocup like we used to. We are now the number one national team in the world, and all the teams that play against Spain, especially in the group phase, will try their best to beat us. Therefore we have to be a bit more cautious and know that every game we are playing against any team, they will come out and play to the death."

The tournament starts on 8th June and Spain are likely to be without Carles Puyol who is recovering from a knee injury.

SOUNDBITE (Spanish), Iker Casillas, Spain captain:

"I spoke to Pujol last night. We were talking for a while and he is really quite disappointed and sad, but he knows he had to stop because his knee was just not responding. I do agree with coach Vicente del Bosque. He is a really important medical leave and we will notice he is not there. "Puji" has a lot of charisma with the rest of the players, both with those he knows for so many years ago, more than 10 years ago, and with those who are coming now. "Puji" is a very important captain for the Spanish national team but I do agree with del Bosque. His medical leave is quite delicate."

Vicente Del Bosque will announce a provisional squad next Tuesday.
